Despite the temptations of Tweetie 2, I’ve found myself coming back time-and-time again to Birdfeed for tweeting on the go. Birdfeed 1.2 is now out, and there’s a tonne of changes, most of which are listed in this post.

I’ve never really been tempted by Tweetie 2 because it just feels so heavy. I don’t need a mobile Twitter client that wraps every single aspect of the API. I just want a refined, no frills reading experience with decent posting capabilities. Birdfeed excels at that. Sadly, I fear I am in the minority on that aspect as the iPhone/Windows user demands bloat + lowball pricing in their software, which is why Tweetie dominates.

I find this humorous, as every day I get emails telling me Tweetie has too few features and is too expensive. I think Tweetie hits a happy balance for a lot of people. The best part about twitter apps is there are enough out there, that there is probably one that works for you. That’s the client you should use.

I don’t want to hear this “I worked hard for my money, why can’t he?” stuff either. Do you know how much it would suck to be jobless, homeless, and hungry? I hate job hunting as it is and I’m lucky enough to be able to afford to eat while I do it. After about a week of being jobless and homeless, you’d probably look and smell like garbage and have a harder time finding work. It’s not as simple as that, so I don’t want to hear it. Beyond that, is that dollar really going to bankrupt you? Even if you’re low on cash, he probably has less, and you’ve made it through life with one less dollar than you needed before. Give him a buck so he can get a sandwich or something.
And well, let’s say that he’s not actually homeless, just some jerk who really really wants a beer or a slushie or something. Have you ever wanted a slushie really badly? I have. If I was really craving a slushie and not only did I get to satisfy that craving, but someone else bought it for me, it would probably be the best day ever. For a dollar, you can make someone’s day the best day ever. Totally worth it.

sometimes I really can’t afford that euro, but I give it anyway.

I’d say I liked it better when the art smut blog didn’t talk about politics, but...

These URLs do not paste easy into IM — when IMs have a tendency to auto-convert them so they’ve got smiley faces in the middle and whatnot.

And why aren’t there pretty addresses like “http://googlemaps/country/state/town/street/” or something like that?
